At some point in your life, you will go through hard times, we all go through it as humans - particularly as believers. Today’s entry is focused on helping you through those hard times and giving you a few kingdom pointers to help you along the way.

How do you get through hard times? Prophetess Josephine opened us to this discussion and shared that as pastors they have fallen on hard times. Prophetess Josephine shares the family's personal experience of a season of homelessness with two children. This was a very difficult time for the family especially still being in full-time ministry and having young children who still needed to attend school - how did they get through it? Prophetess Josephine shared how she used the power of Worship, The Word of God and Prayer to get through that situation. Later on, Apostle abbreviated these Three powerful tips to WWP. It was hard but she knew that God was aware of the family’s situation and was confident that He would see the family through.

Putting God first allows you to be bold and confident; the scriptures says in Matthew 11:28-30 28 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

Apostle John went deeper into the topic of ‘Going Through Hard Times’. He taught us what he called the three Ps - Prayer, Patience and Praise. Expanding further that if you have not gone through hard times as a child of God that means your Salvation is FAKE! Hard times are a purifier, not a consumer. In the book of Lamentations 3:22 - "It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed because his compassions fail not." Instead of complaining when going through HARD TIMES ask God ‘what does this season mean?’

  1. Hard times are meant to make you stronger

  2. It is a toughening platform

  3. If you are meant to be great in life you will go through hard times

Apostle John breaks down the meaning of the three P's. The first P is PRAYER. What is PRAYER? Prayer is a two-way traffic between humanity and divinity. Humanity speaks to divinity and divinity speaks back to humanity. When you are going through hard times, prayer is a vital platform to get redemption and revelation about your situation.

James 5:16 - "Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much”. Prayer is a weapon that brings a man out of a hard time, keeping you focused on the perfect will of the Father concerning your life. Do not allow the devil to steal your place of prayer when you are going through hard times, if you allow the devil to steal this you are FINISHED. When you kneel before God when you rise, you rise above every situation that you may be going through!

Yes, we know what you are thinking, ‘IT IS HARD TO PRAY WHEN GOING THROUGH HARD TIMES RIGHT?’ Honestly, it can feel that way. Furthermore, Apostle John went on to open us to a deeper revelation - if we look deep at the definition of prayer it is not until you are jumping up and down to have a countenance of prayer. Look at the story of Hannah, 1 Samuel 9 – 10 So Hannah rose after they had eaten in Shiloh, and after they had drunk. Now Eli the priest sat upon a seat by a post of the temple of the Lord.10 And she was in bitterness of soul, and prayed unto the Lord, and wept sore”. When words fail you allow the intercessor to intercede for you; allow your spirit to cry out to God. Understand Prayer is a platform to communicate with your Maker.

The Second P is PATIENCE. What is Patience? IT MEANS CALM DOWN. The reason why people are not patient is because they are not learning. Apostle John taught us that through the process of learning, a man who is learning while waiting will not be in haste to make something happen. Patience is a platform to increase in wisdom. Patience increases the capacity of a man's wisdom - if one is truly praying while waiting. How can you be patient after praying when going through hard times? LEARN TO WAIT! God is not mute when you pray to him, be patient to hear what He has to say to you.

In the place of waiting you must be willing to learn. Everybody wants it QUICK! Do not fast forward your time of waiting, if you fast forward your process it will be your drum of sorrow! Ecclesiastes 3:1-8, 1 To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: 2 A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; 3 A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; 4 A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; 5 A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; 6 A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; 7 A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;8 A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace. Everybody has a time and season do not look for harvest when it is time for you to be planting. A Microwave mentality will turn you into a microwave nonentity.

What is PRAISE? A man that knows how to praise GOD will never be isolated or depressed. The presence of depression is an indication of the absence of GOOD praise. When good Praise cannot be found in you, depression becomes a guest!
